There are literally thousands of audio and video Internet broadcasts on the Internet today. From homebrew-style webcasts to fancy movie trailers, Cyberspace is teeming with multimedia content. While it's generally getting better, the major search engines still have a difficult time indexing these stations for the web-surfing public.
However, if you'd like the surest way to find multimedia on the Internet, check out this freeware program. LiveWire! Broadcast is a specialized search tool that helps you discover great streaming content.
LiveWire! Broadcast covers all the major streaming media formats. It covers all audio and video broadcasts that can be tuned in with RealPlayer and Windows Media Player, including NetShow.

LiveWire! Broadcast can also direct you to streaming MP3 via WinAmp's excellent Shoutcast servers. To find radio stations, simply enter a station name or content format. You can also find stations that are located in selected states, provinces and countries.
After keywords and geographic settings are entered, LiveWire! Broadcast queries an external database. Notably, program's best features is that its database is frequently updated, so you'll always find fresh content. After a few seconds, the program displays your search results on the interface. By clicking on a station, it's automatically loaded on the intended multimedia player.
The developers claim that their database includes some 4,500 live stations and over 100,000 Archived broadcasts. The only glitch I found was that the program is unable to successfully load WinAmp. However, I hear that an upcoming version will fix the problem as well as add pre-sets and a few other goodies. LiveWire! Broadcast receives four smileys.
