Formerly known as AudioGrab, MediaGrab! is a shareware search tool designed to help users track down audio and/or audio/video files on the Web. Its simple graphical interface allows users to select the type of files they would like to retrieve as well as specific search terms in order to locate target files. Results displayed can represent the links to the individual files found, or the links to the Web pages where the media files reside. The various search engines and sites used in the search process can be modified by the user; for example, a user may choose to remove one of the predefined list of 23 media sites provided with the software and replace it with one of their own choosing.

Once found, the program has the ability to download the selected files directly to your hard drive. When connecting to FTP sites, the program can be configured to automatically lauch your designated FTP program.

MediaGrab! can locate multiple types of media files, including MP3, AU, WAV, MIDI, RealAudio, QuickTime, and AVI. Once located, links to individual files can be verified to insure that users do not waste time chasing after dead links.

MediaGrab! is shareware. After a 15 day evaluation period the user is expected to pay a $29 registration fee, which can be made on the eastBay Technologies Web site.
